Preparing to install and configure Storage Foundation

Before installing or upgrading Storage Foundation, you must:

• Make sure you meet the installation requirements.

  See SF Oracle RAC prerequisites

• Set up the basic hardware and plan your configuration.

  Details about supported hardware are on the Veritas support web site: http://support.veritas.com.

• Perform the Storage Foundation pre-installation and pre-configuration tasks. Gather the required information to install and configure Storage Foundation.

Setting umask for root user

Before installing SF Oracle RAC, set umask for root user to "022". Type:

# umask 0022
