NAME

vxpalctrl - startup and shutdown script for VxPAL agents

vxpalctrl -h | {-a agent_name -c stop | start | restart | status}

vxpalctrl starts, stops, restarts, and queries status on Veritas Provider Access Layer (VxPAL) agents on the local host.

You might need to shut down agents on remote hosts using vxpal.

-h, --help: Provides usage information for vxpalctrl.
-a agent_name: Specifies the VxPAL agent that you want to perform an action on. agent_name can be one of the following: StorageAgent, StorageManager, DBEDAgent, actionagent, gridcentral, gridnode, VAILAgent, and so on. For the latest list of VxPAL agents, see the Veritas Storage Foundation Manager Release Notes.
-c stop: Terminates the specified agent.
-c start: Invokes the specified agent.
-c restart: Shuts down the specified agent, if already running, and re-invokes it.
-c status: Returns the status for the specified agent.

By default, vxpalctrl resides in: /opt/VRTSobc/pal33/bin
