NAME

vxpalctrl - startup and shutdown script for VxPAL agents

SYNOPSIS

vxpalctrl -h | {-a agent_name -c stop | start | restart | status}


DESCRIPTION

vxpalctrl starts, stops, restarts, and queries status on Veritas Provider Access Layer (VxPAL) agents on the local host.

You might need to shut down agents on remote hosts using vxpal.

OPTIONS

-h, --help
Provides usage information for vxpalctrl.
-a agent_name
Specifies the VxPAL agent that you want to perform an action on. agent_name can be one of the following: StorageAgent, StorageManager, DBEDAgent, actionagent, gridcentral, gridnode, VAILAgent, and so on. For the latest list of VxPAL agents, see the Veritas Storage Foundation Manager Release Notes.
-c stop
Terminates the specified agent.
-c start
Invokes the specified agent.
-c restart
Shuts down the specified agent, if already running, and re-invokes it.
-c status
Returns the status for the specified agent.

NOTES

By default, vxpalctrl resides in: /opt/VRTSobc/pal33/bin
