Prerequisite tasks for using the gadbrestore command

Before restoring the management server database from an archive backup, you must do the following:

• Stop the management server
• Detach the database
• Rename the current database data and log files or move them to a temporary directory

If you do not rename or move the database files, the gadbrestore command finds that they already exist and generates an error message.
