vxclus UseSystemBus ON

vxclus UseSystemBus ON

This command makes the registry changes necessary to allow a dynamic cluster disk group to be created on the same bus as the cluster node's system or boot disk. In previous versions of Volume Manager, the program did not allow this to happen. The reason for making this command available is for users who want to have the boot or system disk and the cluster disk group located on a SAN to boot from the SAN.

Warning:

If you decide that you want to have a cluster disk group on the same bus as the computer node's system or boot disk and you want to boot from a SAN, then you need to follow the specific instructions of your array manufacturer for booting from a SAN. See the Microsoft Windows Server Knowledge Base article 305547 for details of the considerations involved when booting from a SAN.

Example

vxclus UseSystemBus ON

Makes it possible to create a cluster disk group on the same bus as the cluster node's system or boot disk.
