Setting up a simple Volume Replicator configuration

This section describes how to use SMIT to set up a simple VVR configuration. The examples in this chapter show how to set up a VVR configuration containing one Primary and one Secondary. However, SMIT for VVR enables you to configure and set up VVR configurations with multiple Secondary hosts.

To create an RDS and start replication, perform the following tasks in the order presented below:

Create data volumes and the Storage Replicator Log (SRL)
Create the Primary RVG of the RDS
Add a Secondary to the RDS
Optionally, change the RLINK attributes
Start replication
Note The examples in this chapter use the names listed in the following table. Replace the names used in the examples with the names you want to use for your system configuration.
