-
Freeze the node:
# hasys -freeze -persistent
<nodename>
-
Stop HAD.
-
Remove the deprecated resource types.
See Removing deprecated resource types.
-
If you have NFS installed on the node, you must edit the
main.cf
file to include details about the NFSRestart agent. Refer to the Veritas Cluster Server Bundled Agents Reference Guide for details.
If you have configured Oracle, Sybase, or DB2 databases, refer to the respective Enterprise agent documentation for upgrade information.
-
Take a backup of the
main.cf
file.
-
Upgrade the operating system to:
-
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL 4) Update 3
-
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (SLES 9) with SP3
-
Insert the software disc with the VCS software into a drive connected to the system.
The CD is automatically mounted. If the CD does not get automatically mounted, then enter:
# mount -o ro /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
-
Navigate to the folder containing the RPMs.
Depending on the OS distribution and architecture, enter this command:
-
On RHEL 4 (i686)
# cd /mnt/cdrom/rhel4_i686/rpms
-
On RHEL 4 (x86_64)
# cd /mnt/cdrom/rhel4_x86_64/rpms
-
On SLES 9 (i586)
# cd /mnt/cdrom/sles9_i586/rpms
-
On SLES 9 (x86_64)
# cd /mnt/cdrom/sles9_x86_64/rpms
-
Upgrade the RPMs:
rpm -U *
